Tip
of the Page:
Determine the level, or thickness
of each piece of wood before you start to profile the shapes.
Which paw of the dog, is going
to be closest. Both of them can be rounded to reflect their true
shape, but first establish which piece you want to be thicker (thus
closer to you) and then add filler to the back to bring it forward.
Alternately you can sand or cut the other pieces of wood to make
them thinner. Often you cut your pieces on an angle to make it appear
that one end is close to you and the other end is disappearing into
the background.
Lastly profile the pieces
to their correct shape.
Whole units (ie.inside of
the dogs face) can be lifted with a 1/4" piece of plywood,
to make it look like it is closer to you.
