Wamara, A Deep Purple South American Exotic Wood

Wamara: Wamara is a very dense wood like a typical rosewood, with dark purple heart wood and pale yellow sapwood. Some boards have wonderful banding where the heart and sap meet creating two colour mozaics. Its density makes it hard on your tools, but the beautiful colours and sheen it takes on finishing make it very worthwhile. No finishing difficulties that I have come across, as it is not an oily wood.
