Bulletwood: (Manilkara bidentata ) Bulletwood is an extemely straight grained, fine wood that finishes to a deep rose colour. Almost like the consistency of Gaboon ebony. It comes from S. America, and typically not seen in traditional distribution channels ..... I received a small amount from personal contacts in the country. It is very consistent in colour, and polishes beautifully. Hard on your chisels, must be predrilled. Necessary to use quality sand paper. The beautiful rich, rose coloured luster is well worth the effort.
