Bloodwood: (Brosimum paraense ) Bloodwood is an extemely straight grained, fine dense wood that finishes to a deep rose colour with an occasional yellow streak in the more dramatic pieces. It is somewhat difficult to cut and plane and is hard on your chisels, and MUST be pre-drilled. It takes time to create a quality finish but polishes beautifully if you work your way up the grit sizes. The beautiful rich, rose coloured luster is well worth the effort.
